Watercourses proposed to be taken for the purposes of the said Water-works. Commencing^ at a point on Kawhaka Creek, about four miles easterly from the Christchurch Road, the same b^ng the eastern end of Dam No., 8, or Upper Dam ; thence, westerly to Dam No. 1, or L,awer jjam 5 thenoe westerly and northwesterly, a distance of about foui- and a half miles more or less, crossing the Mail route to Canterbury or Christchurch Road West of the 17th mile-post ; thence in a westerly direction along the southern, watershed of hills to a point about two miles more or less west of Fox's Township, a distance of about six and a h,sl? miles ; thence in a north-westerly direction along the northern wterßhed of hills on the south, aide" of the right-hand branch' of Waimea Creek, a distance of about two miles; thence in a southerly direction crossing the headwaters of Liverpool Bill's and, Pretty .Woman's Gullies, and along western and northern water-, shed of hills to Ballarat Hill, a. distance of about three <and a half, m,iles and. terminating at or n.eaj.
