Madras and Royalty were also following a long- way rearwards. Alice Grey and Mistletoe jumped the seventh hurdle in company^ after which the mare came away, jumping the last .hurdle aixmt two lengths ahead of Misitletoe, and winning easily by five lengths. Judge's b g Llewellan (Owner) Q When three-quarters of a mile had been traversed, Lightheel's got on even terms with Doctor, and they ran nearly level up to the distance, Ranelagh about three lengths behind. Coming into the rails Lightheels began to. hang out signals of distress, and Ranelagh went up to withjin a length of Black Doctor. After some delay at the post owing to Yatterina's fidgeting, the lot got well away, except Yatterina^ who certainly -had a long way the worst of it. Calumny and Hatred made play, followed by Awatea, Miss Flat, and the Ada colt in the order named. They ran in this order for a quarter of a mile, when Yatterina came into third place, the Ada colt and Miss Flat falling back. Coming into the straight run the ruck closed up a little on the leaders, but the Ada colt and Miss Flat very shortly tailed off. Calumny now appeared to have the verdict safe 1 , and in company with a stable companion extended her lead to the finish, winning easily by three length, Hatred second, Yatterina third. Time, lmin 21sec. . : The Consolation Handicap was won by Hatred, with 9st, beating Miss Flat, with 7st 101 b. The weather was very suitable, and the meeting on the whole was considered a great success.
