ART-UNIONS.
[to the editor.] Sir — Some time in the month of November last I bought a ticket in an artunion of jewelry belonging to Mr Broadbent, of Greymouth, to be drawn (accord-' ing to advertisem, ent) on the 26th of December ; after date I looked in vain for a list of winning numbers in your paper, and also asked Mr Broidbent when his art-union, was to take placj», and was informed that he could not get the tickets all sold. I then .asked' bjm to return me. the money and I would Return my ticket, when I got laughed at for my pains. I have since written to Mr Broadbent, enclosing a stamped envelope, and he has not had common courtesy to answer my note.. I now address myself to you, trusting that you or some of your correspondents may be able to give the public some infermation on the subject, as the present procedure, to say the least of it, is very objectionable, and might b,e called by another name. " I am, &c, A VioiriM, Moonlight, May 21, 1873. •
