THE COURT HOUSE, MAORI GULLY.
[to the editoh.] Sik— One of the public works provided for in the Paroa district at the last session of the County Council was the building of a Court House in Maori Gully; and up to the present time nothing has been done to secure a great want now of years' standing, I may state the sum of L2OO ■ was placed on the estimates of the pre- { yious session and was allowed to lapse, as it appeared not sufficient for the purpose ; but last session L 250 was voted by the Council, being the amount asked for to have so necessary a work carried out, and to replace the wretched imitation of the temple of law and justice that exists there at present, yet with a full knowledge of everything in connection with the matter for the last twelve months, County Government officials aeem to ignore it altogether, I may here intimate that a Court House has been provided for in the Waimea district lately. Why not the erection of a Court House at Maori Gully be attended to? I am, &c, A Resident of the District. November 16.
