EXPECTED ARRIVALS. Tararni, from Melbourno Wallace, from Nelson Murray, from Nelson Waipara, from Dunedin Charles Edward, from Nelson VESSELS IN PORT. Dispatch, tug steamer Cleopatra, from Lytlelton Isabella, from Lyttelton
The s.B. Alhambra, which left Melbourne on the 9th inst., arrived off Hokitika yesterday morning, and off this port in the afternoon. She was tendered between eight and nine o'clock by the Dispatch. On tbe same tide the Dispatch towed out the Gari* baldi, bound for Hokitika with a cargo of coaL Tho S.S, Waipara was expected to leave Lyttelton for Westport direct on Thursday night On or about the 25th inst. the Parana, the* pioneer vessel of a new line of steamships between Hong Kong and Melbourne, is expected to arrive. The Parana has been despatched by Messrs Norton, Lyell, and Co., shipping merchants at Hong Kong, at tho instance of Kong Meng, the Chinese merchant, of Melbourne. It is intended to despatch a Bteamcr from Hong Kong every three months direct to Melbourne, the return voyage, however, to be made via Sydney and Newcastle, if thought desirable.
