GREYMOUTH GAS COMPANY.

[to the editor.]

Sir — In to-day's issue I was surprised to see a letter signed " Shareholder," complaining that one of the Directors held only one share in the Company, and that therefore he would not give the time and attention- necessary for the proper discharge of his duties. If so, why did not "Shareholder" bring it forward at the late meetiijg. As it is,' the gentleman to whom he refers, who from the commencement tillj recently held a number of shares, has, m^re than any other director, given his time ; and attention to the interests of the Company, and if anyone deserves more $han another the thanks of the shareholders of the Company, it js him. „,;• ; I am, &g., Thk Largest Shareholder. Greymouth, Oct. 22.
