The Carlists are becoming troublesome. Outbreaks have occurred on the frontier. Troops have been despatched to the menaced points, and precautions taken to prevent insurgents from crossing over from France, or from centralising in any considerable numbers. Thejband of Carlists attacked the barrack in Salos de Los Infants, in the Province of Burgos, where members of their friends were imprisoned. They succeeded in entering the building, and after releasing the prisoners, burned it to the ground. The Captain-General of Catalonia has been summoned to Madrid, accused of Socialist intrigues and of corresponding with the Bupporters of Don Carlos. An express train was thrown from the track on the Barcelona and Valentia railway, caused by a land slip. The engine was turned over and demolished. The total number of victims by the disaster is unknown. Several dead bodies have been recovered. Twenty-two passengers were injured, some fatally.
