[NEW ZEALAND TRESS ASSOCIATION.] Dunedin, Aug. 28. A man named Roberts, lately employed at Strachan's Brewery, has hanged himself. Arrived — Phoebe, from Lyttelton. The Caversham election resulted as follows : -Tolmie, 217 ; Cutten, 152 ; majority for Tolmie, 65. Wellington, Aug. 28. Sailed — Alhambra, for West Coast. Auckland, Aug. 28. The Nevada ha 3 been admitted to pratique. She will be fumigated, and probably released to-morrow. Her mails were landed this afternoon. Caradiu Bajau, a miner, swallowed some rat poison, and is dangerously ill He says it was accidental. His wife says it was wilful. Leonard Daldry, of the Shakespeare Hotel, tied a long cravat round his neck and the other end to the banister, and jumped over. He will probably recover.
