Horace Greeley has been nominated for the Presidency by the Cincinatti Convention and the Liberal Republicans. The Democrats are expected to support Adams. This division imperils Grant's re-election. Ntblo's New York Theatre has been totally destroyed by fire. .The Government of Canada has introduced a Bill authorising the construction of a Pacific Railway, and granting 50,000,000 acres of land, in blocks 20 miles deep on each side of tfi'e line, and a subsidy not exceeding 30,000,000 dollars. A submarine cable is projected between Scotland and Canada, via the Faroe Islands and Iceland.
