The Gipps Land Ttmes writes:— "A sample of the coal found in the Streleski Ranges, south of M'Donald's track, and west of the Tar win River, has been forwarded to our office, and, judging both by its appearance and the better test of combustion, it appears to be of excellent quality — indeed, resembling cannel coal. The ground on. which it is found has been taken tip by a party of four. They are to commence operations as soon as the leases are granted. The seam is reported to be 4ft thick.*.
