[fsom our own correspondent.] PROCEEDINGS OF NELSON PROVINCIAL (COUNCIL. Nelson, May 16. The Road Boards Bill and Town Improvements Bill have passed. If towns or districts wish to form boards, they must move in the matter before J uly. Mr Donne has proposed a Committee of Inquiry into the 'policy of the Government, relating to leases in the Inangahua district, and made an effective speech. Objections were made to the committee as including too many Gold Fields members, and Mr Donne, dissatisfied with the proposal to elect the committee by ballot, withdrew the proposition. The Estimates are proceeding without change. Gold Fields members meet this afternoon to discuss the votes for works on the West Coast. Dt Hector is here, and is expected to leave for Westport soon, for the purpose of inspecting the Ngakawhao. The Arnold and Ahaura Road Bill is expected to pass on Tuesday ; when tenders for the work, part cash and part land, will be called for at once.
