' There were no arrival* or departures at this port yesterday. The p. s Charles Edward is the next of the Anchor line due here. She is expected to arrive on Wednesday morning, and is announced to be despatched for Westport and Nelson the same night. The as Kangitoto, from Melbourne direct, is now due at Hokitika, and may be expected to show up to-day. She will come on here the next tide, and meet with. prompt despatch for all New Zealand ports, and Melbourne via the Bluff. A vessel passed the port about sundown yesterday, supposed to nave been either the Kaiuma or Wild Wave, from Lyttelton to Hokitika. The regular trader to the West Coast, Lady Don, which recently made a rapid trip from this port to Lyttelton, has, we believe, made another smart passage from that port to Hokitika, arriving there yesterday.
