London, FebV'lS. The markets have been affected by the Alabama question, but there was a confident feeling at the close. The first series of wool sales commenced on the Bth. There was a crowded attendance of home and foreign buyers. Prices compared with the closing rates last December, for Australian, were fully 10 per cent higher. Arrivals for the series include 80,700 bales Australian. Hides active. Heavy Australian realises full previous prices. Light has advanced *■*>*. ... • ■ ; Leather — The whole of Australian offered sold at 13| to ]s£. New York, Feb. 19. Kerosene firmer, 31 cents. Wool: 250,000 Australian, ex barque Frances Vlilly, sold at 60 to 62i cents. New Zealand flax firm. San Francisco wheat market inactive, 2dol. 20c. per 1001 b. Liverpool quotations, February 29, 12s 3d, a decline. Coal, Australian, 13dol. to 13dol. 60c.
