THE CHICAGO RELIEF FUND.

The Chicago Relief and Aid Society have prepared an elaborate report showing the amount of contributions in money received from all quarters in aid of the sufferers by fire, specifying the states, counties, fand; towns, with amounts from each,ri?g}hVgrahd total iB nearly three ana a quarter millions in cash, and does not include the Alexander Stewart's fund from New York, nor the munificent sums raised by the Chamber of Commerce of that city, nor the large sums, over lOOjOOOdoi each, donated by the cities of Cincinnati and St. Louis, and distributed through their own agencies. California is credited with 150,363. 39d01, of which amount San Francisco gave 120,756.88 dol, Sacramento 21,117. 60d01, and Oaklandß ll)215dbl. Contributions from the ; State of New York, exclusive of itemß heretofore mentioned, foot up 624,571d01. Massachausetts gave 335,530d01, Oregon 13,0D0d01, Colorado 12,000d01, Utah 15,000d01, England 386,420 dpi, Canada 148,611 dol, Scotland 6b,006d01/ Ireland 68,0C0d01. Franco, 570,000 ; Germany, L 64,000. In addition to many contributions, gifts of food, and clothing, have been received from hundreds of cities, towns, and villages, all over the Union, and frbm Canada, England, and Berlin, Prussia, amounting in. value to many thousand dollars. Sacramento, Stockton, and Georgetown, have each made liberal donations of this kind. At date of the report (6th January) there were 9895 families receiving general relief, such as fuel, food,and clothing. Of these only 982 are Americans, 331 L being Irish, 3573 Germans ; balance divided among almost every nationality or race on the face of the earth.
