COROMANDEL.
The Mail says that it has no rich finds to chronicle, or any heavy yields of gold, still the field is looking healthy, and the miners seemi contented with their prospects. The Tokatea has been sending down better stone to the mill than it has for some time back, .but not in the same quantity, and after the next cleaning up and retorting, this mine will .relinquish its lease of the New Zealand Company's battery. — The Harbor View struck gold last week in the new low level tunnel, and has since then cut across several small goldbearing leaders from which some nice specimens have been taken. The chief advantage, however, derived from the present workings is the fact that this mine has proved itself a3 auriferous in the low as in the upper levels.— The Pride of the Tokatea continues to find rich specimens, and. seems to have come across a strong | run of gold.— The Golcondahad a cleaning up on Saturday last at the Nil Desperahdum battery. The result was 390z 19dwts from 45 tons. A comprehensive system of prospecting the Margaretta leases and that of the Argo has been submitted to the shareholders by Mr Carew, and it carried out will probably intersect at a favorite angle a highly auriferous line of country?"
