The p.s. Charles Edward irrived from Hokitika, after a good run from Nelson, on Saturday morning. She sailed again for northern ports yesterday at midday. There was no news of the arrival of the 9 a, Claud Hamilton off Hokitika when the Telegraph Office closed last night. She would probably arrive during last night, and come on here to-day, when she will be despatched for Nelson, southern ports, and Melbourne. The s.B. Tnrarua arrived from Nelson yesterday morning. Sho left Hobsou'q Bay at 3 p.m, on the 30th December ; Port Phillip Heads cleared at 5.40 p.m, and Swan Island on the following day at 2.30 p.m. No wind was met with until nearing the New Zealand coast, but a very hea try confused swell, showing plainly that bad weather was not very far off. As she approached the land, S.S.E. winds were encountered, with thick werttber and rain. The Solander was passed at 4 a.m. on the 4th, and Bluff wharf reached about 9 a.m.; discharged cargo aud left at 4 p.m. ; had fine weather along the coast, and arrived at Dunedin at daylight on the sth ; left on ihe 7th, called at Oamaru and Timaru on the Bth; and Lyttelton on the 9th, arriving at Wellington on the 10th ; and left the following Bay for Nelson, j Leaving that port on the 12th. she arrived off Greymouth early yesterday morning. After being tendered by the p.s. Dispatch, she Bailed for Melbourne, taking a few passengers.
