Wool Saxes.— The fourth, series opened on the 14th, and will close on October 11. Total arrival, 139,347 bales, including 38,332 from New Zealand. The home trade was well represented, biddings spirited, at an average advance of Id to l^d on best July rates. Since then an advance on Australian and Cape of 2d to 3d on fleece and scoured ; Id, on greasy. The advance in the price of money towards the end of the series affected wool sales, Tallow brisk, prices 2s dearer. Hides, only 700 from New Zealand offered, which commanded an advance. Horns, no sale. Colonial wheat, 61s to 635 ; very fine, 64s to 65s^ scarce, and in good demand ; prices expected to maintain. Adelaide flour, 42s to 435. New Zealand flax firm, steady demand at advanced rates ; 1150 bales sold ; ordinary rough, Ll9 6s io L2l 10s; medium, half -dressed, L 23 to L 27155; good medium to good, L29to L3l. Tow, Ll3. Since the auction 500 bales have been placed at similar prices. Gum, 20s to 38s. Two casks pale New Zealand honey sold at 555.
