WRECK OF THE SHIP LOCH LEVEN. [per grbville's telegraph company, rbuter's agents.] Bluff, Nov. 9. The s.s. Tararua, John Maclean, master, arrived at noon to-day. She left on the 4th, and brings 334 tons cargo, 58 horses, 23 chief, and 51 steerage passengers. Passenger List.— Rev. Mr Taylor, Mrs and Miss Taylor, and servant; Messrs Crombie,gLennan, Baxter, Henderson, Thompson, Lidney, Almann, Mrs Baxter, Mrs Aiton, Miss Beard, Mrs M'Gregor, Master M'Gregor, Mrs Reid, Mrs Cool and two children, Miss Maylor, Miss Morrisy. Melbourne, Nov. 4. The ship Loch Leven is a total wreck at King Island. A quantity of wool has been salvaged by the Tararua and other steamers. Captain Branscombe was drowned in attempting to get on board. Steamers saved all effects. The Henderson action for libel against the Daily Telegraph for articles in reference to the N una wading affair, resulted in a verdict for the plaintiff, damages one farthing. At the trial, improper intimacy was strenuously denied, but kissing the wife in the presence of her husband was admitted. A meeting lias been held at the Criterion, t o express sympathy, and get up a fund to recoup the Telegraph for its law costs. A considerable sum has been collected. The Colonial Empire has arrived with Government immigrants, and been quarantined for a few days. The Corypheus, from China for Mek bourne, has been wrecked at Marshall's Archipelago. The captain and crew, in two boats, after forty-seven days exposure, reached Rockhampton. The Assembly, after much opposition, carried a bonus of three thousand pounds in favor of the ex-Speaker, instead of a pension. The following are the Melbourne Cup acceptances:— Glencoe, Nimblefoot, Warrior, Mermaid, Little Dick, Barbelle, Lapdog, Romula, Bylong, Lottery, Baron, Foam, Monk, Valentine, Paul, Prtetor, Duke of Montrose, Pyrrhus, Hamlet, Rambler, Arum, Cleolite, Saladin, Irish King, Miss lessie and Lord of Lynne. Sydney, Nov. 3. The Navigation Board has fined the Captain of the Nevada for. having declined to give evidence respecting the collission with the Badger. Ab the investigation was only ex p%rte, they decline to give any decision, but regret that the officers in charge of the Nevada ■offered no assistance tb the A. H. Badger.
Captain Bennett, of the Aurora, has been committed for trial for flogging a seaman. Adelaide, Nov. 3. Lady Edith Eerguson has died. The funeral procession was a mile in length. The deficiency in the revenue, according to the Budget speech, was L76;000. It will be made up by a stamp duty. Wheat market firmer. -
