Hokitika, Oct. 7, 2.30 a. in.

The s.s. Tararua, Captain Hagley, arrived at 5 p.m. She loft Hobson's Bay at 3 p.m. on the 30th ult;., and experienced strong S.S.E. gales during the greater portion of the passage, and had to go half speed the first three days. She brings 16 saloon and 34 steerage passengers, also .320 tons cargo for all ports.

Passenger list — Saloon: Messrs W. L. Fowler, W. J. Coates, S. W. Alcorn, Mrs Pollock and family (3), Messrs T. Hood, G. Holmes, J. Carter, Miss Murphy, Messrs Watt, Bryaone, C. J. Nairne, Mrs Wood, and Mrs Belcher.

Mr J. Moffatifc a passenger from Southampton, died on board the Deccan.
