To-day, a long debate ensued, on the motion of Mr Shepherd, to give the gold duty to road boards on gold fields. An amendment. was moved by Mr Mervyu, that 33 per cent of all special revenues be given to local boards. The original motion was lost, a3 also the amendment, but a similar one is now under consideration.
