[to the editor.] Sir — Although this communication, like all others I send you, may find its May to tlie repository of y'biiv waste" paper basket, yet, with even such a knowledge, [ am urged to write these 'few lines of viridica tion, trusting to your loye of truth and justice in making them public. It is simply to say to the publiciof Greymouth that I am sorry to have been so loathsome a creature during my stay here — of its cause lam quite unaware. lam willing to make such, reparation as in my. power lies if they will but let me know, through the columns of your paper, how I have wronged them. Has there been .a secret ajander against me ? This may have been the case. If it be so, , no person has ever had the kindness or moral courage to tell it to me.
