The Stafford Town Prospecting Company, after working night and day for several weeks, 1 have again struck payable' gravel, but She water came in with such force that a horse and double whip were insufficient to keep it down. The company have now resolved to bring in a head-iace and erect a water-wheel, which they believe will enable them to worlx the ground thoroughly. This, however, will occupy them for at least three months, so that much patience and perseverance are needed for the undertaking.
