The oil refinery belonging to Messrs Greenshields and Son, Glasgow, has been I consumed by fire. The stock of paraffin and lubricating oil in the sheds, which was completely consumed, i 3 estimated at LIOOO, and, of course, was uninsurable. The retorts are uninjured, being a considerable distance from the sheds. A very serious affair was discovered in Cork on February 14. The body of a respectable farmer named Buckley, living in the south liberties of the city, was found in the river. He was seen about the town up to a late hour the previous night apparently well. How he got into the river is still a mystery. An English gentleman, who was with him, is said to be missing. The body of Buckley bor^ no marks of violence,
