Alexandra (Waikato), April 1. Colonel Lyon and Wiiitor.i hvd a meeting yesterday near Turner's. No Europeans were present. lam well informed, that Whitora said that storekeepers, laborers, sheep and cattle owners, farmers, gentlemen, and ministers of religion were to rernaiD in the Waikato under Tawhaio's protection, but Government officials were all to return to England. After the meeting he sent letters to the same effect. Dcnedin, April 8. The Volunteer representatives met with a miserable reception on their return. They will be entertained to dinner on Thursday. Dr Morgan's pastoral, threntening to anathematise all parents sending their children to the common schools, excites much attention, and is condemned outside. H.M.S. Blanche, and Rosario are to be re-commissioned at Sydney. ■ Captain Montgomerie goes home, and is to be succeeded by Captain Thrupp. The Virago returns to England, and is to be succeeded by the Basilisk, six guns. Sailed— City of Dunedin, for London, with a full cargo. *
