A case of suicide occurred at Wanganui on the morning of the 27th inst. A man named Baylis, well known on the West Coast aud in Otago, hung himself. The body was found suspended from a post, and life was extinct, though, strange to say, one foot touched the ground. The deed is attributed to mental derangetnent, caused by jealousy and pressing pecuniary difficulties.
