The fineness of the weather has enabled the farmers to deliver their grain very freely, but great complaints are being made at the 1 .condition, and we are; not far out in saying that nearly one-fourth has been faulty, arid the grain merchants:havei considerable difficulty in obtaining a whole parcel in sound condition. . The demand for wheat continues active : superior samples for forward delivery are readily placed for 4s ; and for stored lines of picked samples, for immediate shipment, 4s 2d to 4s 3d is the current price. The millers have: great difficulty. in getting parcels to supply their local demands, and in consequence of the firmness of the wheat market they have advanced the price of flour to Ll2. The large quantities of oats that have gone forward and are on the wa}' to Melbourne have somewhat weakened quotations, but if anything the values here are a trifle firmer. Good bright samples of potato have J been fetching for forward delivery 2s Id to 2s 2£d, and as high as 2s 3d has transpired for completion of shipments. Tartarian rule from Is lOd to. ls lid. up to 2s, according to the wants of the buyer. Good bright barley is scarce at 3s ; few lines of this description offering, while inferior ranges from 2s 3d to 2s 6d. We cannot report any alteration in either value of or demand for provisions. Butter continues to be placed at. 6d to 6£d, and cheese from 4£d' to 4§d. . Farmers hams and bacon may be quoted at 8d to B£d, while for known brands as high as lOd has been realised. ■■ ■ ■ ;
