She arrived off Milford Sound at 10 p. m on the 7th inst., left at 12.30 p.m. on the Bth. She leaves for Dunedin at 4 p.m. to-morrow. Passengers— For Dunedin: Messrs G. C. NeaU, Coote, Russell, Neill, M'Nichol. For Lyctelton— Messrs Short, Young, and 104 tons cargo. For WellingtonMr R. H. Taylor, and 34 tons cargo. Melbourne, Dec. 31. Flour has taken a turn for the better, and sales have been effected at Ll3. Feeding grain has also improved. Sugar 3 are selling at full rates. James Scott, the first Assembly candidate who has published his address, has been summoned for supplying a prisoner with tobacco. The weather is stormy and showery. The races to-day were poorly attended. The following are the results :— H urdle Race — Royston, 1 ; Middy Ashore; 2, Handicap for Three-year-olds — Doubtful, J ; Amethyst, 2 ; Endeavor, 3. Midsummer Handicap — Tim Whiier, 1; Nimblefoot, 2 ; Melancholy Jacques, 3. Steeplechase— Narcissa, 1 ; Monk, 2. Sydney, Dec. 31. Robertson and Windeyer were re. elected by large majorities. Charles Mathews has -postponed his return to England till the next Californian mail. Adelaide, Dec. 31. All tolls are abolished after to-day. Hobart Town, Dec. 31. H.M.S. Blanche conveys the Governor and suite to the Huon Regatta. The Omeo has taken a trip to Newcastle.
