♦ [from oitr own correspondents.] AUCLLAND, VIA TfIAMES, Jan. 6. Colonel Lyons sent a ineasjnger to ask Tripihana's intentions. A letter, in reply, says — "The Europeans are on the hEipu ground. Go to the other side of the Manugatawhira Creek. A second warning will not, be seat. The road to me is now closed. Your messenger must not return. Tapihana and Waitora have joined at Pakaui, near Kapu. All the available men have been sent from Hamilton to Alexandra. The block-house_at Oraka is to be garrisoned. The settlers believe an attack i 3 imminent, but ara very cantident. The ship Countess of Kin tore leaves tomorrow for England via America. The Hon. D. M'Lean arrived per Phoebe to-day. The Galatea's Minstrels, including the Duke of Edinburgh, have given two successful concerts in aid of the Orphan Home, at Parnell, and the sufferers by the loss of H.M.S. Captain. Telegrams via Tauranga close at five p.m. daily. Mr Swan is standing for the Thames.
