RESIDENT MAGISTRATES' COURTS.

AHAURA. Thursday, November 3. (Before O. Whitefoord, Esq., R.M.) Thomas Lynch forfeited, his bail (20s) on a charge of being drunk and disorderly. .Defendant appeared in the course of the day and applied for a new trial. He said he had made every effort to reach the Court in time but failed to do so. His Worship enquired of the police what the defendant's conduct was before he was locked up, and he was told thab it was very bad. Forfeiture of bail was cmfirmed. CIVIL CASES. "White and Garth v. Atkinson.— A claim for Ll4 11s for hides and skins. Judgment by default for amount claimed and costs, with professional fee. Mr Guinness for plaintiffs. White and Garth v. William Smith.— For L 27 7s 9d. Defendant admitted the debt, but' pleaded that his estate had been in the Bankruptcy Court. He produced a deed of composition with his creditors. A verdict was given for plaintiff, with costs of Court and professional fee. An order was made that no distress warrant should issue except on a special order of the Court. Mr Guinness for plaintiffs. Mackley v. Peter Rosa.— Claim for Ll6 11s 2d. No appearance of defendant Judgment by default with costs. Mackley v. Chambers and Prendergast. — A claim for L 23 3d 3d, for goods supplied at Duffer Creek. "Verdict for the plaintiff with costs. Michael Murphy v. Hugh Gore.— An action to recover L 37 10s 7d, for goods supplied at Callaghan's Creek. The debt was admitted, and defendant asked for time. The plaintiff pressed for immediate execution, as he believed defendant meant to leave the colony as soon as he washed up. Defendant said he was willing to pay the debt if he got a reasonable chance to do so ; he Had other creditors, and would have to divide the result of his washing among them. His Worship said the debt had been owing for such a length of time, he had no option in justice to plaintiff, who had been so long out of his money, but to order 1 immediate execution, with costs. There were two other unimportant cases decided, and the Court adjourned to the 17th November.
