AHAURA.
Thursday, October 6. (Before C. Whitefoord, Esq., E,M.) Two miners were fined in the usual penalty for being drunk and disorderly. Michael Erskine was charged with a breach of the licensing regulations on the 30th September at his house, at the Totara Bush. Defendant admitted the charge. The police did not press a heavy penalty.; Fined L 2, with costs of Court. CIVIL CASES. Carter v. Smith. — A claim of L 46 14s for butcher's meat supplied at the Ahaura. Defendant pleaded that his estate was in the hsmds of the Bankruptcy Court. He produced a copy of the Gazette notice, and said he had given plaintiff verbal notice that his proportionate share of the dividend, papable by deed of arrangement, in the estate was ready for Him. After argument the case was withdrawn. M'Lean v. Berry.— Claim for 15s balance of amount alleged to be due on a contract for removing a building in the Ahaura township. Defendant denied the liability. The case was dismissed. M'Lean v. Berry.— A claim for L 2 for cutting a drain and making an approach to defendant's house. Judgment for amount and costs. Anderson v. Youngling, and Hamilton v. Atkinson, were enlarged. Farry v. Dewson, was adjourned to Napoleon on the 7th instant. The Court was adjourned to 20th Oct.
