NEisoij, Aug. IV. . Native news from Raglan, brought by the s.s. Airedale, states that the King has invited all loyal. Natives to visit him, with their arms if they accept the invitation. The reason is supposed to be the approach of the Arawa Friendlies, between whom and the Waikatos exists an old feud. The whole affair is creating considerable uneasiness in the public mind; Dunedin, Aug. 16. Rennie has confessed that a shipmate of his, named Malcolm M'Clerinon, no.w a policeman at Clyde, concocted the Escort Robbery. He found a false key for the outer door, and kept watch outside while the theft was being committed. They ai*e both comparatively new chums, having arrived llere from home in March, 1869. . '„'• , . ' - • ; ' Au g! ;u.' The Deputy-Superintendent had an interview yesterday with the immigrants recently arrived, who complained of want of employment. They state they were led to expect employment at 8s a day on arrival, whereas they- found the place overstocked with men, who were walking the streets unable to find employment, and adding that they were in danger of being mobbed by them. " The Deputy-Superintendent said there would be plenty of employment a month later. Wellington, Aug. 17. Mr Yogel has introduced a Bill to amend the County of Westland Act, by making the Chairman of the County Council a nominated officer. The Public Works Bill passed through Committee last night without any, substantial alterations or any divisions. v
