"OUR" REPRESENTATIVE.

[TO THE EDITOKi] Sir— ln the West Coast Times' leaders in Friday and Saturday's issues on the question of Annexation of the Grey District to the Province of Nelson, the writer seems much distressed that you .should name Mr W. H. Harrison as our Representative, instead of the member for the Westland Boroughs. If the people of Greymouth lay any claim to that gentleman in the House of Assembly, it is because they know, from tiia intimate connection with this district, and from his knowledge of the wrong that has bden done it by that part of the County where ; the seat of Government exists, that he will assist to put the Grey District in a position where it will receive that consideration, which, from its importance, it demands, whether it be done by a separate County, Annexation to Nelson, or the extension further north of the present boundary-line. The West Coast Times surely does not forget the time when it disclaimed all connection with Mr W. H; Harrison ' as the member for the Boroughs, and handed hinr'over to the people 'resident in the northern part of the County,"characterising him for a lengthened period by no other name than the member for Greymouth. The probability of losing that part of the County known as the Grey District must be of great consequence to those south of |he Teremakaii, when the Wesi Coast Times is so anxious that they should be placed under the gentleman's wing, whom they rejected and insulted, for protection. ; — I am, &c, L.L.
