SALMON FOR THE GREY.

[to the editor.] Str, — As I do not believe there is a river in New Zealand better adapted for the introduction of salmon than the Grey, will you allow me to request the, co-oper-tion of any gentlemen who will assist me in the work of introducing this noble fish to these waters. In order that the movement may not be considered ia sham one, and to show that I am in earnest,' I enclose my cheque for five pounds to head the list of subscriptions towards this object. 1 believe we could obtain all we want from Otago at a very small cost. I am, &c, E. Wickes. Greymouth, June 3, 1870. .
