(fkom ouk own corhespondtint.) Hokitika, April 1. The Prosperity, from Melbourne, while entering the river this morning, in tow of the p. s. Lioness, took the ground on a sand hummock outside the North Beach. The Lioness was unable to move her. It is expected that she will be got off this morning, but it is thought she will have to be lightened. She is not injured as yet. Wellington, April 1, 4.30 p.m. A large public meeting was held at Patea to protest against Major Noakes' recent order permitting rebel Natives to j return to portions of the district. Resolutions were passed calling on Government to rescind it.
