THE GILBERT.

[CLEVELAND BAY EXPRESS.] News from the Gilbert, brought into town a short tinie since by private hand, is of a cheering character. We are informed that " dry-panning" is now at a discount, in consequence of the falling of a copious supply of rain, which enabled the diggers to carry on their operations successfully. Several good finds are reported to have been made, but as yet we have no authentic detailed information on the subject. Not only were matters looking up, according to our informant, on the old ground, but the new rush at Western Creek is now turning out very much better than was expected.
