RESIDENT MAGISTRATE'S COURT.
Thursday, February 17. (Before W. H. Revell, Esq., R.M.) Assault. — D. Cole was charged with assaulting D. Livingstono at the Lagoon Lead. Prisoner pleaded guilty, and was fined 10s aud costs, or 24 hours' imprisonment. Friday, February 18. Drunk aud Disorderly. — James Dunn, a well known inebriate, was again brought up charged with this offence. Sergeant White proved five former convictions, and these, coupled with the present offence, were sufficient to induce the Resident Magistrate to award him one week's imprisonment. — ChvistinaM'Lean, for a like offence, was lined 203 or 48 hours' imprisonment. Using Obscene Lang page in a Public Place. — Christina M'Lean was further charged with this offence. The evidence, which was too disgusting to be pnblished, clearly proved the accused to have been guilty of the offence charged, and she was fined LlO or three months' imprisonment.
