A funeral service in honor of Mr Peabody was celebrated in Westminster Abbey. A colliery explosion at Wigan killed 27 people. The wreck of the Royal Standard, bound for Melbourne, has been sold at Rio. The missing raft with survivors has been recovered. Consols, 93£.
