Wellington, Dec. 7On Saturday Mr Buller, with a force of the Armed Constabulary and 20 Ngatipa, went to Manawatn to arrest Wirihana (Williamson), who lately interfered with the surveyors, and deatroyed the tirat trig station. Thirty-five Ngatiraukuwa resisted the capture, and a scuffle ensued. Plenty of hard blows wero exchanged, but no damage was done. The sellers sided with Mr Buller, who scoured his prisoner, handcuffed, and took h*im to Wanganui. Mr Fox is in the district, and entirely approves of Mr Bullcr's conduct, The survey is now going on satisfactorily, A telegram received states that Commodore Lambert is superseded. He is succeeded by Oapt. E. W. Vansittard, C.B.
