THE BRUNNER COAL MINE.
(To the Editor of the Grey River Arrjux) Brunnerton, Dec. 2. Sir, — In your issue of Thursday, in reference to my letter, you say — "That public opinion would have been better satisfied if I had stated nothing but facts." Now to the fact themselves, "it is a well known fact here, as the verdicts at the inquests have decided, that all the accidents have occurred through the carelessness of the sufferers themselves, or as on one occasion, through a cause that could not have not been foreseen. I also beg to draw your attention to another fact. Mr Yvnng has left Bmnncrton through fear of the consequences iluit might accrue to him on account of tlie letter lie recently sent you. Hoping fair play will be given to those interested V . lam, &c., : Theodore Brandt. • [The italics in the above are our own. Could. any stronger argument be used than the fact" therein stated against the system of terrorism which at present prevails un the Nelson side j— Ed.]
