Manuka was supported for the Cup at 1.00 to 10 and 100 to 12 ; Strop at 100 to 6 and 100 to 7, Australian at 100 to 4, and Sir John and Freetrader at 100 to 5 each. 400 to 8 and 200 to 4 were laid against Coquette, and at the first-named price the owner of the mare would have entrusted her with a thousand or two more, but the layers would not go on at that figure. Sheet Anchor, is rapidly increasing in public favor, and his price is now 7 to 1, and Salem Scudder has also advanced a point or two during the past day or two. Against Charon winning the Derby and Traverton the Cup, 100 to 5 was backed, and 500 to 10 with Sir John substituted for Traverton.
