London, August 10. : New Zealand affairs have been discussed in both Bouses of Parliament. In the Lords the Bishop' of Lichfield (Dr Selwyn) proposed the withdrawal of the settlers from disturbed districts ; and that they should receive compensation. A suggested was made ixt appoint a commission to take charge of public affairs in New Zealand should the Government still withhold assistance. In the Commons, Messrs Monsell and Adderley attributed the situation of the Colony to the neglect of Belf-reliance by the colonists, and deprecated Imperial interference.
