Calcutta, July 30. The, cholera is still prevalent in the Central Province. Fever rages in the Hooghly district. Cholera campg are in future to be established not less than fifty miles from ■ the infected stations. The camp for Calcutta is to be at Baneegunge, ' The sanitary arrangements are to" be commenced before the forthcoming Durbar at Agra, to be held by the Duke of Edinburgh. The first marriage of a Hindoo widow has just taken place at Calcutta. Several Brahmins who took part in the ceremony have been deprived of their caste. A Nepaulese Prince has been sentenced to one year's imprisonment and a heavy fine for falsifying documents produced in evidence. Accounts from Burmalv state that the King has been long disposed to evade the execution of the treaty. Matters seemed to be approaching a crisis. The Kins? has since yielded to the demands made upon him, and matters are compromised. The shin, G, P. Whitney, from Calcutta, to Mauritius, foundered near Madagascar. The oaptain and spme of the crew are still missing. Several native officers and men have received the order of the Star of India for distinguished conduct during the Abys-. sinian campaign.
