LATEST TELEGRAMS.
(From the W e^t Coast Times.) CaaiSTCHuncH, May 10. An orderly has arrived from Colonel Whitmore with dispatches, dated the 4th, from Port Galatea, on the Rangatiki river. The force were getting short of supplies. Colonel Whitmore expected to reach Lake Waikaremoana yesterday. Roberts's force, 420 strong, and Sti John's force, also 420 strong, were expected to reach Abikereru on the 6th. Te Kooti is said to be at Lake Waikare. Ziac pontoons are being made at Napier, to carry the troops across the lake. The nonr nation of a Wellington Superintendent lakes place on the 17th. Dr. Featherstone is expected to be returned without opposition. Colonel Lyons had not returned to Patea from an up-river expedition. He met 40 Hau-haus near Little Taranaki, and killed four of them. The Hau-haus have returned to several of the?r old haunts. The Ngatiporous, in a late expedition, killed an old woman of their own fo-ibe, as she was too infirm to be bothered with.
