THE PAROA ROAD BOARD.

* i (To the Editor of the Grey River Argun.) Sir — I see by the last issue of your paper that there is a, conference of the ■various Road Boards sitting in Hokitika, and in the list of grievances made by Mr Stajsell, delegate of the Paroa Road Board, is one^ — that he wants more and definite powers for the Road Board that he says he has the honor to be a member of. Now, sir, lam not going to say much, but I have no hesitation in stating that Mr Stansell and hia colleagues in this honorable institution have quite power enough to do more good than they have done since their election. I dare say the expenses of Mr Stauaell, and paying a man to work his share in his absence, would go a good way in building a little oot-biidj»o across the left-hand branch of he New River, where one man lost his iie in crossing since their election. 1 would remind the Road Board that they should start and do some good before all iheir money is spent iv wages, expenses, stationery, coals, kerosene, &c, &c. They ought not to vie with other bodies on this coast, but go in and do some good and get their names up, for it is very Dear low water with them in this district at present. The diggers soon get tired of all this long correspondence, and no earthly good to them. We have a good sample of the Road Boards and the working (as they call it) of the same. laur, &c., Pair Play.
