COUNTY COUNCIL ELECTION.
The nomination of candidates for the representation of the Paroa Electoral District in the County Council took place yesterday at the Court-house, Rutherglen. Mr Warden Keogh acted as Returning Officer, and the following nominations were made : — Don Francisco delas Carreras, pror posed by James Giles, and seconded by John Williams. Mr William Dale, proposed by John B. Gribble, and seconded by — Gadd. Mr E. B. Fox, proposed by John Paterson, and seconded by William Pullen. A show of hands was taken, with the following result:— Carreras, 10; Dale, 5; Fox, 4. A poll was demanded on behalf of Mr Dale, which was appointed to take place on the 10th inst.
