Last night the member for the Westland Boroughs, withdrew his motion for referring the question of the adjustment of Westland's portion of the Canterbury debt to a Select Committee, as no possible good would result from it at this late period of the session. To-day he gave notice of his intention to move on Tuesday next, that Westland's liability be determined by arbitration, and that leave be granted for the introduction of a bill on the subject.
