No person, however, was now detained under the suspension of the Habeas Corpus Act, and no Fenian prisoners were awaiting trial. Her Majesty enumerates the leading measures of the session, and announces a speedy dissolution of Parliament. The Goodwood Stakes were won by Sobriquet ; the Cup by Speculum. Twenty-three persons were killed and several injured, owing to a false alarm of fire at the Music Hall, ' Manchester. The House of Commons has adopted the Telegraph Bill. Both Governments of India Bills have been withdrawn. The telegraph cable between Malta and Alexandria is interrupted.
