(To the Editor of the Grey River Argus.) In your issue of Saturday, the 6th inst., we notice an advertisement calling for tenders for the supply of meat at a uniform rate per pound all round. Until the appearance of said advertisement we were totally ignorant that any other establishment was supplying meat at lower rates than ourselves. We never ignored the fact that we were serving hotelkeepers at a uniform rate of 9d per lb all round, as their consumption is much larger than that of private families. For the benefit of the curious we here give a statement, showing the actual cost in Queensland, and expenditure qn delivery in Greymouth, which we hope will be satisfying to those interested.
