(To the Editor of the Grey River Argm.) Sir— l beg to state that I am desirous of meeting in public both you and my fellow-townsmen, in order to prove that the " insinuations" contained in the leader of your last publication are false, without foundation, and calculated to be of serious, injury not only to me personally, but also to my colleagues, and the interest of this town generally. You will much oblige by publishing this, in your next issue, stating your time and place of meeting, at which I will make it convenient to attend. I am, &c, John A. Whall. Greymouth, April 20, 186& [The only reply we can give to the. above invitation, is to inform Mr Whall that we shall be happy to publish any explanation he may think necessary. The subject i 3 a public one, and not one in which we are personally concerned. Ed. G.R.A.~\
