The two Houses of Parliament have 'come to a dead-lock on the Public Debts' Act/ A conference of three members of each House was, appointed to settle the difficulty, but they could come to no agreement. . . On Saturday a committee was appointed to search for precedents. J|||l The New Zealand Times says that a letter lias been sent to the Mayor of Hokitika, Mr Bonar, by Mr Moorhouse resigning his seat as member for Westland, in consequence of the steps taken by his constituents with regard to local government. . The Westland coach arrived in time to catch the English mail.
